X-rays are a form of radiation that pass through most objects. The technologist carefully aims the X-ray unit at the part of the body being examined. A small burst of radiation passes through the body producing an image of that particular part of the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PREPARING FOR AN X-RAY<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\nThere is no special preparation for an X-ray. An X-ray exam is offered on a walk-in basis, with no appointment necessary. A written order from your physician is required. If you are pregnant, you will need to notify the technologist prior to the exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
EXPECTATIONS DURING AN X-RAY<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\nYou may need to change into a gown upon arrival. \u202fYou may also be asked to remove jewelry, eyeglasses and any metal objects that may interfere with the images. Special care is taken during any X-ray examination to use the lowest possible radiation dose while producing the best image for an evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
LENGTH OF X-RAY EXAM<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\nTypically, these exams require 5 to 15 minutes to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
EKG OVERVIEW<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\nAn electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) records the electrical signal from your heart to check for different heart conditions. Electrodes are placed on your chest to record your heart’s electrical signals, which cause your heart to beat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here at HWDMC we offer resting 12 lead EKG services for heart conditions or for pre-op testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RESULTS OF YOUR TESTS<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\nWe recognize that people want to know the results of their test as soon as possible. We make every effort to process results promptly and accurately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
HWDMC and CSH Patient x-ray images are stored on our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). All exams are interpreted by board-certified radiologists. Many studies are read in consultation with subspecialists or groups of subspecialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The final radiology report is dictated at the time of service. The reports are then reviewed, signed and made available on PACS. The referring physician is called immediately with STAT or critical result values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EKG OVERVIEW<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\nAn electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) records the electrical signal from your heart to check for different heart conditions. Electrodes are placed on your chest to record your heart’s electrical signals, which cause your heart to beat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here at HWDMC we offer resting 12 lead EKG services for heart conditions or for pre-op testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RESULTS OF YOUR TESTS<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\nWe recognize that people want to know the results of their test as soon as possible. We make every effort to process results promptly and accurately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
HWDMC and CSH Patient x-ray images are stored on our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). All exams are interpreted by board-certified radiologists. Many studies are read in consultation with subspecialists or groups of subspecialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The final radiology report is dictated at the time of service. The reports are then reviewed, signed and made available on PACS. The referring physician is called immediately with STAT or critical result values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
